Stay Alive with Kato LED light kit - what values

I have the ONP set from Kato and all have been outfitted with their LED kit.  Sometimes, when running on N/T-Trak layouts I would get the blinkies.  The first time it happened I thought it was the internal connection until I went home and tried it on my layout and the lighting was solid steady.  So it's obviously dirty tracks.  I don't want my N-scale passengers having any epileptic seizures!  :)

Since these cars have so much room inside, I was wondering about adding some stay alive caps.  This will be run on DCC layouts.

Soooo....what values would I need and any resistor or diode to accompany?  Parallel or series to the LED?  I'm good in soldering and understanding circuits but don't know the values to use in this situation.

(Peteski? :D)

I have a how-to step-by-step write-up for doing what you want, but for the older Kato LED lighting kit.  The new circuit is slightly different. For one, the current is higher for the new brighter LED. I'll have to see if I can whip a keep-alive write-up for the new circuit in the next few days.
