I thought the problem with these was the rivets that the point rails swivel on tended to come apart? I have two I bought to try out but they're on spur sidings so they don't have heavy continuous running. I'm not keen on the having to buy something to control the point movement. Sorta like buying a car but finding out you need to install a steering wheel yourself.

Do yourself a favor, Ed, and either abandon the curved turnout, or have someone scratch build one for you.  A single hand-built turnout won’t break the bank, and the reliability and operational smoothness will be several orders of magnitude better.

I built most of my layout using Peco turnouts long before Atlas came out with c55.  They are 100% reliable.  I needed a RH curved when I added my dumper loop, and it is the only Atlas I ever bought.  This was about 5 years ago.  The thing sort of fell apart before I removed it from the packaging; one of the point rails was loose.  I suspect the package had been flexed or something, probably not very representative of Atlas as a whole.  Anyway, I was not able to get it working reliably and ended up removing it.  From that one sample I decided they were too delicate.
