GP40-2LW is almost ready to go

Jeff has done a few sample prints of the GP40-2LW These are pre-production, and a few things need to be tweaked, such as the radius on the front window gaskets, the bowing you see here and there, and the print lines will be less apparent. The etched parts should be in early next week so it won’t be long now before this one is ready. I wanted to share a few quick photos of the pre-production kit.

Part numbers will be NK26 for the GP40-2L CN as built, and NK27 GP40-2L for the KCS style, with rebuilt dynamic brakes and US style steps. Cost will be $110, and the kit will fit the Atlas GP-40/38 series as well as the Life Like GP38-2.

If you are interest in purchasing this kit please feel free to contact me at chrisd@briggsmanufacturingassociates.com

Kind regards,
Chris Dittmar

Looks like there will eventually be another Rocky Mountaineer in my future.

These will be 3d printed and not resin right?

Any chance Jeff could increase the relief  of the rear radiator?
There's a shyness found in reason
Apprehensive influence swallow away
You seem to feel abysmal take it
Then you're careful grace for sure
Kinda like the way you're breathing
Kinda like the way you keep looking away

Hi Daniel

Yes these will be 3-D printed, not resin.

The radiator will have an etched part representing the grille that is installed over top. The grille you see in the photos is the mesh behind the external grille.

Hope this helps,

Chris

Looks like there will eventually be another Rocky Mountaineer in my future.

I emailed Chris yesterday about the Rocky Mountaineer units  (rebuilt with dynamic brakes while keeping the original steps and lights) and asked if Jeff would consider offering these as an additional variant.

In less than a day these were available on the Briggs Models web store.

Great example of the power of 3D printing & on demand production!
