Well, I added a fascia to help frame the scene, and found an angle to photograph it through the French door window from the outside. It was never meant to be viewed this way. The curve is about 52" radius. Love finally making progress!

That's a beautiful curve Otto!  Can you annex the Outside so your operators can get that view?  ;)

I'll slip one more post in at the end of a long weekend.  As part of my freight car mania, I've been wanting to tackle an Intermountain flat car for a while.  Here's one that has been in my Unfinished Projects box for a long time:

(Sorry about the distracting backdrop artifacts.)  A few more shots in my body-mount thread.

Nice job on the flatcar Gary.  Really like the coloring / weathering of the deck and the repaint patches on the sides.

Lol, Gary, it's in the works. When I first built the train room, there was a lounge area next to the French doors. Then the kids moved on and the lounge relocated to the family room, closer to the head and the fridge. The old lounge space got used for the "great helix daylighting project", with new open running on two decks along the fixed doors and the bookcase alcove. The photo shows the makings of an outdoor "lounge"; the upper lights allow a view into the room without getting in the way of the operators.

Nice job on the low rider btw 8)

Great work Otto. That backdrop has turned out a treat.

Same place, different train. M.P. 72.5, where the old Highway 66 crossed at grade, before the grade separation was built. Westbound Pony Express, running late (it was scheduled to go through at nite). Head end, coaches, lounge, five Pullmans. What away to go!
I'm having fun, built two culverts tonight (yet to be installed) for this scene. Love the broad curves...
