Late to the game this weekend cause I've been traveling. Finished this up just before I left but wasn't able to upload the video until today. It wasn't an easy install but it was well worth the trouble.

We just got back from a fabulous trip to Alaska, where we rode the entire length of Alaska RR from Fairbanks to Seward, climbed the White Pass on the Y&WP, and got buzzed by a float plane...fun fun fun, see below.

But the highlights of the trip we're visits with Messrs. Hinshaw, Horton and Dance and their super model railroads in Vancouver, each one in their way a cutting edge excercise in excellent modeling. Thank you guys for your time and hospitality! The pics don't do your layouts justice...

Assembled my first freight car from one of the new Briggs Models 3D printed kits.  This is a 100-Ton welded gondola with flat ends built by Hawker Siddeley in 1967:

Looks like it will be a nice model, but is it riding high?  I feel like the gondolas rode closer to the rail.

BCR Freight car Catalogue lists extreme height as 7'-3" for this series; N Scale ruler indicates model is pretty much dead on 7'-3" high.  photograph was taken at a very low angle . . .

Are you using 100-ton trucks with 36 inch wheels?  On my covered hoppers that made a big difference in the apparent ride height, simply by filling the empty space above the wheels.

Yes. MT 100-Ton trucks with 36" wheels until I can get my hands on some metal 36" wheels.
