Why would a dual-cab Diesel need to be turned on a turntable?
I know, it's probably just passing through it - but I couldn't resist commenting.

It could also be that it’s being routed into a stall for maintenance.

There is a couple of interesting things about this shot. 1 It appears that the building it is housed in is NOT round and 2 the safety railings around the pit look like they rotate with the table!

Correct on both counts. I have some video of the loco being turned, but have so far failed miserably to upload it.

The loco was going for a spin because it needed to be relocated to one of the 'stalls' for some attention.

The more flippant reason was that I'm a casual employee of the company that leases the facility (I work in another state and was just visiting) and asked if they could pose the loco on the turntable for myself and a US railfan, who was travelling with me, which they kindly did.
