New Z scale heavyweight from MTL

I'm pretty excited about the release of our first Z Scale Heavyweight passenger car.  What I'm most proud of is the price point and I think it shows that USA production can be price competitive with China while maintaining high quality and our Magne-Matic couplers.  We have truck mounted couplers on the front and body mounts on the back so we could keep as much of the detail there as possible.  Looking forward to adding a few of these to my SP Silver fleet  :D

I am becoming increasingly enamored with recent Z Scale product.  Not quite to the point of changing scales or anything, but maybe starter set.  Steam is lagging, but I think those will come too.

What is the prototype for the car above, or is it more of a comination of several?

Duh, I suppose that should have been quite obvious.

Thanks Joe.  When's the Pennsy version coming?  (Laugh- you knew it was coming)

One notes the modernized 6-wheel truck with roller bearings and some sort of outside swing hanger (or that's what it looks like to me).  I don't need that exact truck, but a lot of HW cars modernized in the 40s or 50s got roller bearings.  Is that new tooling for MT?  Any chance of seeing the car and/or trucks in N? (My recollection is that the similar office car in N is a composite and not based on any given prototype)

But nice car in any case.  The AZL line already has several Pullman sleepers not available in N scale- if anyone comes up with a few viable Z scale steam locos, it will be easier to model a 30s-40s era train in Z than in N.

I have really liked s lot of MTL recent products. The husky stacks were a great surprise. One of the best cars ever made in n scale.

Keep up the n scale heavyweights too. These are great cars at very good prices.

I am eagerly awaiting the underslung roller bearing trucks.
