Woohoo!  A Brookville locomotive!!

So, here's another Brookville that represents the other end of the spectrum in two ways:

1) This PCC was originally built ca. 1951 for SEPTA. It is being loaded up today for shipment to San Francisco after a complete refurbishment by us.

2) the Tri-Rail photo was probably taken on a warm day.  It was -2 here this morning when we started to load the PCC...

Vermont Rail Systems Rutland to Bennington turn switches the Whitman’s Feed Mill at North Bennington on 4 October 2017. GATX #2684 began life in 1971 as a GP40 with the Baltimore and Ohio and was later rebuilt as a GP38-2. The much more modern ex FEC SD70M-2 #431 was consigned to trailing unit status this day.

Not a great shot, but I caught a blue and yellow warbonnet crossing over highway 4 near Hurcules, CA.

So a week ago I was turned in on the last functional CF-7 on my railroad. Afterwards, my conductor and I decided to grab a late breakfast near Bethany Beach, Delaware. Just down the street from the greasy spoon we ate at sat this gem. Rumor has it that this was the locomotive used by the short lived Chesapeake Railroad. It now sits outside the Salted Rim restaurant: [ Guests cannot view attachments ]

Vulcan #1 sits in the frigid single digit weather this morning at the Vulcan Quarry outside of Hanover, PA (Bittinger).  No stone trains for the foreseeable future due to the cold.  This engine is now a spare anyway, as a SW1500 is now the primary motive power for loading hopper cars.
