I'm sure there were many other examples of tractors with matching trailers. One of the contemporary ones I often see on the highway is Conway. Often they run tandem trailers.

Conway is gone, you know. XPO now.

So they must have not repainted their entire fleet - I see them pretty much daily on my way to and from work (Rt 3 in Mass between Lowell and Nashua).

"Conway is gone, you know. XPO now."

Is that why XPO trucks suddenly appeared in the KY/OH/WV Tri-state region, seemingly overnight?  I'd never seen one, then they were everywhere.

I noticed that too, and you can see that giant red XPO on the rear of the trailers from a mile away.

Yellow and Roadway would have matching tractors for them.

For some reason I thought more trailers were announced at some point, but I'm thinking of something else.

Depending on the era one models, almost any of the largest LTL carriers could be found pulling either a lease or a RR owned trailer.  In my time with Carolina Freight in the 80's and early 90's, I used trailers from Conrail, BN(even loaded some of the 28' containers from that time), XTRA, Preferred Pool, CSX, and TIP to name a few.  But nkalanaga is right.  You'd not see a RR owned tractor too far away from it's home turf.
