Every once in a while a loco running on DCC will come to a stop on it's own without the throttle being touched.
A small movement of the control know will restart the loco but it will do it again. Is this a problem with the decoder or with the DCS 100 Digitrax command station?

Do you have another throttle you can try, dialing up that loco and running it?

Are you running JMRI? I ran into this with a command station still thinking it had control of loco 1234, while I was operating it from WiThrottle. The command station would occasionally send a "speed=0" packet.

I would reset-clear the DCS100 (...I forget the sequence...) and see if the problem persists, regardless.

as stated above .. this is normally when the same loco address is being controlled by 2 devices or throttles ..

This won't happen if you have the same address selected on multiple DTxxx throttles. They will "Slot Follow" and sync changes.  If one of the throttles is a UTx throttle or a Zephyr, speeds will not be sync'd because the system can't turn the speed control knob or flip the direction switch.

See the manual for instructions to Close Option switch 36 on your DCS100. This will purge all addresses and consists from the command station. You should then be able to select and run the engine after that. Be aware that anytime an address is selected on one throttle it should be "dispatched" before being selected on a second throttle.

Thanks for the replies guys.
I think I had the same address in both my UT4 D and my DT400. I tried it again last night and didn't have the same problem.
