Help Please with ESU Lokprogrammer
« on: July 11, 2017, 01:18:51 PM »

I received my programmer on Saturday and I watched all of Matt Herman's tutorials regarding the programmer. I downloaded the  2 required programs, installed, and used it for quite a while. Everything was OK. I saved my file and shut down and when I came back later everything is in German, all tabs, all written communication. I have checked my computer settings are all for English, I have downloaded at least 4 more times and still no change.

Has anyone experienced this and may have a hint. I sent e-mail to ESU but that may be a while in getting reply, if ever.

Thanks,
Carl

Open LokProgrammer.
Close the wizard by clicking on the X on the Right-Hand corner of the box.
Click on Extras
Click on Programmeinstellungen (bottom option on list)
Sprache
change to English
Click on Anderungen speichern

Exit program

When you restart it will be in English.

Dies scheint ein sehr schwieriges Problem zu sein.

RAILCAT,

That worked, Thank You very much. I don't know how I inadvertently changed the original download.

Not sure what the other guys said but thanks anyway.

If I understand this correctly (without using a translating app - I took a class of German 40-plus years ago), "fenster" means window, so they were probably blaming Microsoft Windows for the problem. Not unusual.  But I could be wrong.

Aha!  Well, I usually blame all bad things relating to my computers on MS Windows anyways.  :) Thanks for the translation.

I think it was my screw up, but who knows could be Win10. It is working OK now.

Carl - maybe not!  When I got my new Win10 laptop, recently, I installed LokProgrammer on it.  First time, was in English, then it came up in German on the next open.  I had to do the same thing you did, but knew where the setting was.  Not sure if it is Win10, or maybe a default when the settings are first being written to the config file (or some combo thereof).  I didn't think much of it at the time, but now a repeat performance....

Rick, thanks for the comments. I have been experiencing some strange things on my desktop. It started out with XP and I skipped the 7 & 8 but after Win 10 was out for awhile I upgraded to it. I have been happy with it but am beginning to wonder.

I am very happy with the programmer after testing a new install in an Atlas/KATO GP-30 and also an SD-9. That FT file is great. The "drive hold" is fun to play with. Pretty neat stuff. I am thing about micros in my 3 new FVM GP-60's.
