Nice progress shot.
Kato's weatherstrip looks too thick, but I ended up extending the gaskets to match theirs on my L window to keep it all looking fluid.
This poor old girl needs a pilot upgrade, and working headlights, but has served well on the layout for over 10 years now (another to-do).
After years of messing around with PlasticWeld and styrene, I picked up on how it softens plastic to where you can form it to make these gaskets.
Cut out the basic shape of the L window, but leave the opening a bit undersize. Brush the PW on the edge of the window opening until it softens, then drag a jeweler's file from back to front so that it rolls the plastic over to match the existing gasket. The windshield is lexan recessed into the opening. This was the second of three units I have done this way (each one got better), but glad that Intermountain has provided Tunnel Motors with the L window already done!
