I was looking thru videos on YouTube this morning and came across this one showing CR 100ton 3 bay hoppers in ballast service, dumping ballast on a new second mainline for the FEC.  Interesting operation

What are they going to use to brush the excess off the tops of the ties?

That track still needs to be picked up and tamped, after that there won't be that much ballast on top of the ties. After the tamping is done the ballast regulator will go to work and level and shape the ballast.

Hmm. I wonder if those were all those cars previously stashed in Mount Union.

Is there a wet water tank car on the train to break surface tension?

I have seen a few string of this on FEC lately over by Ft Lauderdale Hollywood international.
Which ever side of the track I am on is the right side.
