So I called Kato and asked how to combine shipping on the E9 parts and SDP40F glass set I needed to get and they said to put a note in the parts order to add an E9 ultra detail set and they would include it.

My parts order came today, and the ultra detail set was not there, checked my card and they didn't charge me for them. I'm going to call tomorrow to see what's up, but was anyone else successful on getting these via the parts department cart?

Oh, and they're sold out already.

Oh no...I think I might be in the same situation. I did the same and notice that my credit card was charged only $10 ($3 for misc parts, $7 for shipping). My note said that I only wanted the parts in my cart if they can add the UP detail set. I hope they show up with the parts I really didn't need.

There will be more listed at some point, but the sets were pulled down because on packing it was noticed that the mounting pins were sheared off from the back of the MU hose/ditchlight assemblies.  (granted, I would have just glued them on, but I digress....)

I got my set in, those pins on the MU hoses are mold flash. I had to replaces one of the MU hoses on one of my E9 because it fell off and was loss some how and there were no installation holes on the E9. I just glue the new hose back on the same spot job done.

So I received my Kato detail set in the mail last night. It was packed in series of sealed baggies in an empty jewel case, wrapped in bubble wrap.

I'll try to see about getting pictures this weekend, but I am very pleased with my decision to order these parts. The UP winterization hatch shields look great (actually all the parts look great) and with 4 of them, I can do two Amtrak ex UP E units.
