N scale shops in New England and New York City?

I am going to Boston for two weeks and drive to New York City.
Are there any stores in New England and New York City area worth driving/visiting?

It's almost 20 years since visited Boston. I miss Ken's trains in Sudbury.

Hi Matt. Yes Kens is surely missed. I live about ten minutes away from where the former site. I really wish it was still around.

There are a few good shops with N scale, both about an hour from Boston. Shepaug Model Railroad/halfpricehobby.com is in 23 Westminster street Ashburnham, but I haven't been there in years. Usually a great selection of n scale at shows. Also try Hobby Emporium in Tyngsboro right if US3 just before New Hampshire. Great selection, but prices are a year high. Lots of hard to find items though.

Old information, unless you have firsthand knowledge that somebody else is operating at this location under Neal's name. Neal closed this store years ago. He reopened earlier this year in Staunton, IL, northeast of St. Louis.

It's been nearly 30 years since I lived in the area - does Art still own/runn Hobby Emporium?  It was a good shop in the 1980s when he did!

Yes Art is still there.

But lets also not forget Charles Ro in Malden, MA.  While the N scale selection is not the largest, they do have some interesting stuff and often there is a bargain bin where there are some real bargains.  Even just going for the experience is a good enough reason.  They also carry a full line of TruColor paints (but if you travel by air that doesn't do you any good).
