Coast Starlight early rolling stock questions

A couple questions if anybody knows the answers.

1) In this picture, I gather that the dome nearest the camera is a former ATSF dome.  Would the others be former Cal-Zephyr domes, or something else?  (Would an N scale model be available of the latter?)

2) I believe that these photos must be of the Coast Starlight.  There wouldn't have been another train with sleepers that passed through Glendale, would there?  Of particular interest to me is this photo showing a glimpse of an Amfleet car attached to this train.  I didn't think that Amfleet cars would ever have been used on the Coast Starlight but maybe this photo proves otherwise?

The other two domes in the first picture appear to be ex-GN or ex-NP slab-sided Budd dome coaches.
Con-Cor has offered a rather distorted model of this car for many years.

To get a better model, you could use Brass Car Sides #173-520.

These go on the newer full-corrugated Con-Cor Budd dome coach.

I'm sorry Dave, I'm afraid I can't do that.

Thank you.  It would appear you're spot on.   :D

The mbernero archive is great for corroboration.

I hadn't noticed that the sides are not corrugated.

The Con-Cor model, I looked it up and yeah the dome looks awful.  It does appear that perhaps if one did a kitbash with their corrugated side dome one might get an improved result.  Well, something to contemplate...

Jagged Ben:  A new GN/NP Budd dome would be nice, and I'd buy a bunch, but when they came out, those Con-Cor cars were the best domes available in N.  The originals were made by Sekisui (Kato), although who makes them today I have no idea, and the tooling is probably rather worn by now.  The windows were too tall, but other than that, they're not bad.  On the early ones the dome frame needed to be painted, as it's cast into the clear roof casting, and was all clear.  That did allow for thinner frame members than a colored roof with a clear insert, like the Bachmann full dome.
