Try and use a 3/4" or 1/2" piece of plywood for the base and build up from there with blue or pink styrofoam. The plywood should be thick enough not to flex during transport. I believe this type of construction is found in the Unofficial T-trak Handbook.

I will be following this thread closely. I want to do something very similar, Chessie System in T-Trak or a similar-style sectional format. Hopefully you have ideas I can steal- I mean... be inspired by
