After the media coverage, I was expecting more snow than that.

I'm about 45 minutes southwest of @John and got between 22 and 27 inches - depending on where in the yard you measure. Shoveling the walks clear was easy - I managed to keep up wth them in the storm. The driveway - not so much.

I actually ended up putting my 24" 2 stage snow blower in low reverse and walking it up the steps to the deck .. other than breaking a shear pin on something under the snow, I finished the job in 45 minutes ..

how did you paint the grain elevator?

I mixed a custom blend of old silver and gray (Floquil ) and hand brushed. I was trying to achieve a galvanized effect. I washed it heavily with black pigment washes.

Thanks .. I sprayed the entire silo and the roof's with a "steel" color paint I found at Wal Mart ..  trying to do the same thing .. I may hit that with a thin coat of floquil paint to see what that does ..

For the storage bin, I painted the wood white, and am weathering with india ink .. trying to make it look like old wood .. it's not turning out how I want it to .. so may strip it
