Kato Unitrack 45° crossing?

Ok, so now that there is a free version of Rail Modeller for the Mac, I've been playing around with track planning. Did Kato ever release a 45° crossing? I was looking at converting the 1954 MR project layout as it it pretty cool and reminds me of a DKS design.

I did a quick search at N Scale Supply and MB Klein. They both have 15 degree and 90 degree crossings, but no 45 degree crossings.


Hmm... Three 15 degree
crossings add up to 45
degrees...

Yes!  @Catt brought it up a certain Yule Central, and when I did a search I found the 1954 Yuletide Central.

Yeah I find that the crossing gives this simple plan a lot of possibilities.  Surprised that Kato doesn't seem to have one.

Could you substitute an Atlas Code 80 45-degree crossing and just build up the roadbed underneath.  Ballast and paint would hide most of the difference.

Oh, I'm sure I could.  I guess I was more surprised that Kato didn't make this, since they have a large assortment of pieces, and wanted to be sure first.

Are you going to build this layout or are you just playing around with track planning software?  It would be cool to see what you could do with a small layout.
