got my FD2 today
and the one piece is cracked
sent email asking for replacement part
waiting to hear
I guess the worse case scenario is having
to solder or ACC it
my generator should be here by next week
and then I will have a large mason jar
of things to soak in bestine

Better get a lot of diamond files and an even larger mason jar for your tears. 

I'm sure you'll get a replacement. I know some folks who already had parts broken and replaced for free from them.

yes, that metal is quite hard, is it not!?  :?
tears will be shed, I am sure...and for quite some time  :scared:

I managed to mangled several parts and even messed up the decals and all were replaced at no charge each time. Peter/N Scale Kits provided excellent customer support. And JB Weld is your friend here.

Was there any sanding done?, that generator looks really good, if it's fresh out the box.

I ended up sanding a little bit. I sanded the top half and the ends. That was about it. Nice and easy. I drilled out the peg holes with a #61 bit. I'll assemble it later today.

Here are my first models as delivered to me.  I have not yet soaked them because I think the parts are more photogenic before soak. The thing looks small but it is not as evidenced in @chicken45 's pics on his thread!

@chicken45 Has completed his Kit and installed it on his FD2 model.  @peteski developed the Westinghouse placard, and I have the file for it.  For those that have ordered the kit, please follow the instruction sheet on the Shapeways site.
