I'd like to see them before March! I'm surprised they won't be released before Christmas with Bachmanns usual release times.

Thomas, @Cajonpassfan(otto)  is working on a big Hudson 4-6-4 and I will be too once I get some drivers.

Well Drasko, thanks for the shoutout, I would be working on the big Hudson, but the insulated axles never materialized... I need to come up with another plan

The drawing from Bachmann seems to show an early Budd Baggage, built in 1942, with unequal width baggage doors.

this car....

notice the corrugation all the way to the door openings...later Budd designs ended the corrugations a door's width from the opening; apparently the corrugations were being damaged by trucks or equipment backing into the cars. The very nice Kato Budd baggage (released as part of the "El Capitan" set reflects the look of one of these later Budd-built baggage cars.
If the Bachmann car is, indeed, an accurate rendition of this car, then I'll very much welcome a 'new' ATSF prototype head end car to the N scale market...definitely another car for the Fast Mail.

Sure looks like a match to me Bruce! I'll be happy off this helps me fill out the rest of my Santa fe passenger fleet. I believe I have enough of the kumata and prb brass cars to complete my 1st section of the el cap. Now I need to build the q st section of the grand canyon setting as it was mostly lightweight in 1947. Then all I need are the 2nd seconds with my heavyweights mixed in.
This could be an awesome release for us Santa fe modelers of the early transition era!

The drawing of the baggage is the first I have seen for this car and it looks pretty good... will have to find out what series are appropriate for it but it looks like two of the cars may actually be usable, depending on how the details are rendered.  Hopefully if more cars are offered they will take the approach of trying to render accurate models but all we can do is wait and see.
