.... because remember, a leopard can't change his spots.... company "x" did "y" a few years ago..... we made a huge case out of it, as we should have but we KNOW they'll never get it right ever again... so we'll assume everything in the future will be flawed.... after all, we all know that Ford couldn't make a hot car; I mean they made the Edsel (Hmmmm....Mustang) The Red Sox will be losers for ever after trading Ruth ( Hmmmm.... World Series in 2004, 2007, 2013) and everything that comes out of Japan is crap...( Hmmm... the do nothing wrong firm called Kato)

Railwire.... when no one ever escapes their sins of the past regardless of how good their present might be......

Makes me wonder why they even try.....
Model railroading isn't saving my life, but it's providing me moments of joy not normally associated with my current situation..... Train are good!

One word: profit!  No matter how small it is.

After all, they are businesses and, even if they read comments posted here, they realize that those comments are made by less than 0.001% of their potential customers.  Lighten up Francis!   ;)

I don't think it's fair to condemn the entire forum...  You will find that many--if not most--of us are happy to give a manufacturer a second chance.  It's the third, fourth, and fifth chances that are harder to come by (witness Victor and his misfortune with the B-mann).

As for Intermountain, I never bought the SD45-2...  My only experience with Intermountain is their F7A/B, and I'm very happy with those.  Simply extrapolating from that single data point, I would buy locomotives from IMRC again.

Also, I want to defend my position, i, too, own a pair of IM F7s.

I preordered them too, and am quite happy.

I'll see your two F7s and raise you four more tunnel motors. Well, actually 6  of the latter. I own no F7s.

I've never had a single problem with any of my multiple SD50/60/60M Atlas units.

I am sorry, I'm not trying to paint anyone in particular but reading some comments in this and other threads where the same manufacturers get brought up on the same charges, often from many products ago, with no chance of parole is a little disheartening.... we want these people to bring us new products but we always judge them by their worst day, rarely their best.... it's almost like there are points for being one of the first to recall company "x"'s screw up from 2007..... Maybe I'm too forgiving..... :?

I am grateful IMRC produces the SD40/45T-2. Granted I remove and replace the blower duct, exhaust stack, replace cab, and any SP light configuration. Lengthen short nose SD40T-2 and add underframe detail/structure.  With out IMRC I would be running a couple of Key (swing steps) and shorten Kato sd40T-2. Something is better than nothing, this includes bitching.
