Bachman HO Scale Tractors for thier new Trailers ?

   have seen pics in the current Bachman Ad of their "New" HO scale
  Tractors.
   why do they resemble 50s and 60s Tootsie Toy trucks so strongly ?
  at the price they are charging this has to be the "Fail" of 2015 vehicles.
