Thanks for the comments guys.
OldEast - the tail car does have the KATO red light on tail end. I have several things I want to do such as interior lighting, firebox flicker to mention a couple, just have not had time.
Drasko - I do not have a sound chip in the boxcar but rather it is in the "Power car" from the KATO Heritage fleet. This is the relatively new Soundtraxx Tsunami "sound car" decoder. It does have some whistle or horn sounds and maybe a bell or two but to my knowledge no chuffing, hissing and the like. I have not wanted nor looked for those sounds however. What it does have is the clickity clack, flange squeal, and flat spot thump. I need to get my JMRI after it again and reset the sound levels.
Since this is a KATO passenger car it has excellent electrical pick up plus I installed the Soundtraxx keep alive as well, so no pick up problems. I include 2 images for you.
This image just shows an overall with the Knowles Fox speaker and DIY enclosure highlighted
This is the full view. The decoder is on the left, the keep alive on the right and finally the speaker. I soldered the red and black decoder power wires to the KATO brass pick up. All went in well.
Hope this answers your questions and thanks for looking and commenting.
