Anybody have a junked old MRC Berkshire?

I have one that is in reasonably good condition.

But one of the transition gears between the drivers is split.

With so many newer better Berks here and coming....
I was wondering if anybody had a junker that would part with one of those gears?

I also have the Berkshires sold by Con-COr (ex. Rivarossi I think) and I believe they have all metal gears.  Is the MRC a different model?

I believe the MRC Berkshire was manufactured by ROWA,  and Con Cor was Rivarossi based on Rowa tooling?  I probably got that all wrong.  Where is Charlie Vlk?

We don't need Charlie  (although we like him   :D  )

We just need Spookshow.
http://www.spookshow.net/mrc284.html

It is a case of different manufacturers passing around/selling/obtaining the same molds.

The loco started off being made by MRC.  Key- has plastic siderods.
This version also has plastic gears.  As seen by taking the bottom cover plate off.

Later, Rivarossi got the molds and went to metal sidderods.

Spook does not mention the gears.  I'm not surprised they went to metal.

The transition gears are odd (not what we normally see in N scale.

They are small, but VERY fat.

Actually, I guess I could use a brass gear too.

By Monday, I'll see if I can get a photo up of the gear in question.

 Ron,
I have a couple MRC's. I think one is missing the drive rods. If so, I'll let you have the gear out of it. I'll dig them out in the morning and let you know.

hmmm.....
plastic side rods I have....
I guess I thought that was a blackened metal gear.

it split?  is it wrapped around a metal post?
In clock making it would be called a pivot.

OK  Here are some shots.

MRC.  Berk.
Unusual case.

Plastic siderods (not metal).  Gear in question rides between the main drivers.

And here she is.
Plastic gear.  Split on the left side.

Loco stranded until repaired.   :(

Not sure what you mean by wrapping around.

It is a cast plastic gear with a hole in middle and a small shaft is pressed into it.

See photo above.

As long as someone is parting out a Berk, anyone have an extra tender I could purchase?

Ron,
Sorry it took a while.   Yes, I have some of those.
PM me if you still need them.

Anybody who wants parts of this old MRC Berk,
send me a PM and tell me what you want.   For whatever a bubble mailer costs and some postage,
or a flat-rate box (depending on what you want), I'll gladly mail the parts off to you.

I do NOT have the tender.  Just the engine.  Some of the rods are there.  Some are missing.
The rest of it looks complete.

First come first served!
