Reese, Looking good. I've actually worked on that locomotive. It was in the shop last year for NLP (Not loading properly) I'm not sure if it's still working on the Pittsburgh division, but I can tell you it's sister unit the 2511, was at the house today. Do the ditch lights work on your locomotive?

I chose 2510 because it has the PTC on the roof and a miss section of the logo on the long hood, engineer's side. The ditch lights will work, I have them drilled out and 0402 SMDs on hand to install, just need to order a decoder for it. This started as an Athearn SD70M and has a Kato SD40-2 (mid production) cab and nose.

Did you add the distinctive SD70 bump on the short hood just in front of the cab?

Only thing I did this weekend was re-organize my trains to get ready for the big show in Chantilly, VA
Yesterday night I hard-wired a decoder into a Life-Like E-unit.

Maybe I'll run into you there!  Crash!  :D

I saw the Shapeways page, but not that particular photo. I was so glad to see them that I almost bought a set.
Thank god I didn't because those don't look so good.

Well, the pic makes it hard to tell. The car looks like it's arched in the middle. Maybe a load will push it down and level it out.

EDIT: I'd also like to add, that that was just something he threw together to see if anyone could make something out of it. Of course, we're all thankful for it. I may still pick one up just because it's only $13 for TWO of them. Decals will be available in the near future through MVS.

Every night, he plants a new tree.
He asks excitedly "Did you say Ménage à Trois?"
No, I said "Ed's Law."

I may have to pick up a pair or two as well. Hopefully they will be flat.
Then I just need to make a gun barrel.

A little late to this party, but thought I would share what I did this past weekend.
A friend of mine who lives in Manhattan, KS invited me to come down and view and operate his beautiful HOn3 layout.  Yeah I know, it's not N scale, but I think you'll enjoy it?
You can read the post on my blog, see some photos and a couple of videos I cobbled together.
