Model Power FP-7

Hi,
I just picked up a Model Power FP-7 in Amtrak phase one paint scheme as finding a Intermountain one was next to impossible. Trainworld was blowing these out for $39.00's. This is the modeler version and has both coupler boxes screwed to the frame with the use of a bracket. I want to place Microtrains on this but want to find out if anything else will work better than using the # 1129's which MT's recommends. Will a 1015 work or am I stuck with a 1129?
