If I remember it is mostly Marklin with an AZL motor in it.

So what your saying is that Marklin/AZL is going head to head with MTL in the E8/9 market?
Z scale as a whole is such a mess.

I don't know. Maybe they are the same model? I'm not into Z scale, but I am on Reynaulds mailing list. I simply got the announcement, so I posted it here.

It's an AZL locomotive with Marklin couplers. AZL will also be releasing them for themselves.
