WOT 4 wheel passenger trucks on MTL Coach

I'm working on a couple of passenger car projects. And was wondering if anyone has tried to adapt WOT 4-wheel trucks onto a MTL Paired window coach? If so could you please post a photo or 2.
Thanks in advance.

Hello Nick:

I put 4-wheel trucks on my MTL paired-window coach, but I used American Limited PRR 2D-P5 trucks.  It was actually very simple.  A new bolster hole needs to be drilled in the correct location and for me, it corresponded with the raised square just outboard of the MTL bolster.  The American Limited trucks come with a screw as the pin, so a slightly undersized hole provides a good grip for the threads.  It should be simple to adapt the new bolster hole to whatever pin you use with the WOT trucks.

Although not a PRR car, the paired window coach has the exact window pattern for a PRR P70 coach, so with the the correct trucks and added roof vents, it makes a pretty good stand in model.

Doug thanks for the reply. I'm trying to do the same thing for some WP coaches. The WOT trucks look correct. Now to figure out the arch roof.

Hi Nick:

I am not sure what kind of round roof you are looking for, but check out the round roof at PRR Parts:

http://www.prr-parts.com/Page2.html

It is made for the Model Power and Lima P70 coaches, but it is also an exact fit for the MTL coach.

Doug.

Are the WOT trucks a proper PRR type?  If so what type?

Nick:

Years back, JnJ made resin Harriman roofs.  They had one that fit the Rivarossi coach.  It is too long for the MT coach but could be cut down to fit.  They also made Harriman roofs for the Bachmann shorty coaches, and you can splice two of those for the MT coach.
