Doc - You have the annual N Scale weekend held in Bedford, PA every August.  Well worth the visit.

Doc, you have 2 n only events; first on May 15/16/17, 2015, the 7th Ohio N-scale Weekend at the Franklin County Fairgrounds, Hilliard, OH (suburb of Columbus, OH); second, the 11th N-sale Weekend at Bedford, PA on August 21/22/23, 2015.  Many of the same vendors and groups/clubs go to both, it is a great time at both and I look forward to hosting the Ohio event and attending the Pa event in 2015.  later, Craig

The N Scale Enthusiast convention was held this year (2014) in Chantilly Virginia. Not sure when we can expect an east coast N Trak convention.

The National N Scale Convention produced by N Scale Enthusiast is more or less considered "the" national convention. It rotates among East Coast, Midwest and West Coast locations. This year as Philip mentioned was in the D.C. area, 2015 is in Sacramento, 2013 was in Milwaukee, so 2016 ought to be somewhere in the Midwest again.

If you're looking for an N-Trak-oriented gathering, I really don't think there's been a regular show. The regional shows Stew and Craig mentioned are just that - excellent regional shows with an N scale orientation, but not N-Trak specifically. They happen to feature several clubs with N-Trak layouts since it's the prevalent portable layout standard.

I have to ask your question with a question - are you looking for a show to bring your module(s) to and hook up into a monster layout? Unlikely. Last big one was tried at the N Scale Convention in Louisville in 2008, and it was discovered that DCC didn't scale up that big reliably. I was there, there were hundreds of modules and lots 'n' lots of too-long trains simply not moving. IMO the "bring it and run" part of the N-Trak concept took a pretty big hit that year.

The NSE convention this year was actually in Roanoke.  As someone said, next year is in Sacramento, and the final details are being ironed out for the 2016 location, which will be announced as soon as it is final.  It will be a middle of the country location.

There is also the annual Amherst RR Society show (at the Big E) in West Springfield, MA (in February).  It is the largest model RR show in Northeast and the Northeast Ntrak hosts their Winterfest (a mini convention) there.

Unfortunately our webmaster still hasn't updated our website (still has 2014 info). http://northeastntrak.org/

D.C, Roanoke... eh, it was all an amorphous metro-blob when I lived there. :D
