My seven slab side hoppers are complete, allowing me to post the final instalment in this thread.  After decaling the cars I handed them over to Jeff Briggs prior to my surgery, and he has applied the weathering.  We spent some time discussing weathering techniques as there was some elements of weathering unique to these cars.  Cars in cement and lime service had a lot of white residue around the hatches and streaking down the sides, and cars in grain eservice were caked with brown grain dust.  I was able to source some decent reference photographs to aid Jeff in achieving something resembling the prototype, and here are the results:

One of two models completed in the original red stencil scheme:

One of three models completed in the PGE map logogram scheme:

One of two models completed with the BCR dogwood logogram:

These cars are a very important addition to my revenue car fleet as they served the grain elevators in Fort St. John and Dawson Creek, and also shipped cement and lime to Fort St. John.  Here is a car spotted at a grain elevator in Dawson Creek:

Thanks again to Geoff Gooderham for creating such a valuable model, and to Jeff Briggs for the excellent weathering work.

They do look great.  I just wish I could get Central Hobbies to reply to my emails.
