Looking for a Diesel Loco Book...

About 20 years ago, I had several small books that listed diesel locos and the railroads that had them, plus the road numbers of the locos. I loaned the books to a friend who suddenly developed pneumonia and unfortunately died. I never saw the books again.

Can anyone help me track down these books... a name would help me search eBay. Thanks for any help.

It's been a while but did the Diesel Spotter's Guides have the roads listed?

That one does not list all owner or numbers.  Still a good reference for the era when it was printed.

no, I think you're looking for something else.  There's a spiral bound roster annual that I've seen out for a while - about the size of a 5x7 index card(!).  Just can't remember the title of the series.

If your looking for special railroads check out the historical societies or the road your looking for.  I've found many a roster on those sites with loco type, number, dates of service and sometimes where the unit operated.
