A few shots from my trip on the Indian Pacific from Adelaide to Sydney at the start of the month (all taken on my phone so apologies to all real photographers for the quality)
Pacific National NR class 81 (built by Goninan with GE innards) leads a container train past us as we head towards Broken Hill
Stopping briefly at Broken Hill
On arrival at Central station in Sydney, they broke the train into two sections to fit on the platform (that's a DL class, built by Clyde Engineering with EMD insides, on the left - another NR class, on the right, was the lead unit for the journey)
The cars have all been refurbished in recent time, striking a good balance between "old world" feel (like the dining car on the left, one of two on the train) and modern luxury (our 'platinum class' cabin, on the right)
A brilliant trip, highly recommended to those interested in traveling across Australia the old fashioned way!
