Hi Guys,
Last night we posted our January announcement for more new road names on our upcoming HO transfer cabooses:
http://www.bluford-shops.com/bluford_93_036.htm

This time we are featuring the "long roof" version of the transfer caboose as opposed to the short roof version announced in December.

Enjoy,
Craig

I shall be ordering one of the GBW cars, though the only photo I've found (admittedly of #101) shows a flush roof, not the overhanging style. Anyone got a photo of #102 or 104?

Cheers,

Kev

Some have very slight roof overhangs and would be better represented by our "version 4" transfer caboose, while others longer overhangs that better fit the "version 3" which is the one we're doing now. Maybe down the line, we can come back and do some "version 4" road numbers too.

If the roof on this release is correct for the road numbers on them (which I think is what your saying) then I'm happy Craig, I just haven't managed to locate any photos of those cars online.

Cheers,

Kev

If you lend someone $20, and never see that person again, it was probably worth it.

Thanks for that Dave, much appreciated. So ..... the model roof doesn't match ..... ah well, only minor surgery I guess. Looks like the 'flush' roof would have been a closer match.

Cheers,

Kev

After discussing the subject with several fans of Green Bay & Western, the consensus is that we should be doing that road name on the Bluford Shops Short Roof Transfer Caboose instead of the previously announced Long Roof version.
As a result, Both HO and N scale editions of the Bluford Shops Green Bay & Western transfer cabooses will be delivered with the shorter roof. No changes will be made to stock numbers or prices. The artwork on the website has been revised:

Thanks to all who contributed their views on the matter.

I like what Bluford is doing here, I just wish BN had more transfer cabooses.

What are the odds of Bluford doing one like this one:

The body looks similar to what they have, but the frame is a whole can of worms. But there is this: http://www.shapeways.com/model/701187/ho-scale-bn-transfer-caboose-cabin-in-progress.html

I would like to see a BN one, but according to the FOBNR webpage, there were only 4 transfer cabooses:
#s 1, 11274, 11471 (became 11474), 11626

But I can't find pics of any of them but 11471/11474
Vincent

If N scale had good SD40-2s, C30-7s, U30Cs, SD45s, SD40s, and SW10s; I'd be in N scale.

We will be doing the BN scheme on our short roof transfer caboose down the road. The prototype GN cars were built on the frames of retired VO-1000's! That made them the heaviest cabooses on the line. BN 11474 is the only one we've seen that was painted green. We have pictures of BN 11471 that had been renumbered but was still in GN vermillion. Haven't found any post-merger photos of the other two.
