My quick search through the intertubes indicates that these cars were built starting in 1972. (Source: http://www.smd.cc/canstock_status.htm)Any dissenting opinion?I have to admit that I am a bit confused about this design. The Spring Mills site shows a car objective diagram from the B&O. http://www.smd.cc/canstock_status.htmIt states that beyond 6 rolls, the forklift can't turn. So they design a car with an offset door, but then load the extra 2 rolls by the doors. Why not just put 2 rolls in the doorway of a normal car? Thoughts? Perhaps this was due to the weight of the metal rolls, and they wanted to keep it over the trucks? These cars made it to the Beer Line in service to Continental Can, but I am not modeling that portion of the line. Might still pick one up for fun.Best wishes, Dave
