Willmodels is working on a HEMMT. GHQ has an M1A1. Roco/Herpa produce an M109 and M112, though both are pretty old now.

Still no accurate Hummer.

Got a message back from willmodels:

The M978 project is currently on hold due to some production challenges. Since this model was done primarily for a client, all the molds and masters were turned over him. I still have many parts and tooling for it so (I believe) it is possible to revive the project if there is enough interest.

well damnit.

This one was made by a jeweler named Dimitri Dementev.  He had an eBay shop, but it seems to have disappeared.

Aktionshaus MZZ has a very similar model, it is painted and includes a canopy, but it cost a lot more than the unpainted kit I got from Dimitri.  Here is the link I have for MZZ.

Edit:  I searched the MZZ site and found that they are also offering the Jeep in unpainted kit form for a lot less money than the painted one with the canopy.

Carter, I think Dimitri was involved with MZZ at some point wasn't he? I know the Dmented and MZZ models are based on the same tooling as the parts match up perfectly. I have the unpainted model which was only a few dollars. It is an excellent model.

Daniel,

I am not sure of the relationship, but yes, some of the MZZ models and the Dmented models do appear to share common masters.  Dimitri showed me his brass master for a small camper trailer in Houston in 2010, and now what appears to be an identical trailer is in the MZZ line.

Dimitri also told me that he was revamping the molds so that all of his vehicle models would have hollow interiors with open windows.  But that was more than a year and a half ago, and I have not seen anything "new" from Dmented.  I sure hope he will be able to offer more models, because as you mentioned, his work is excellent.

Hobby Search has these available:

At 1/144 they are 10 percent over size, but they do look nice.

I know it's old...but $25 for a single hummer?!?!

I have a ton of the 1/144 Dragon models tanks and what not, when I was stationed in Okinawa, the BX/PX had decent stock of these, and I bought probably close to 50 some vehicles between M1s, M2s, M109s, M113s, MRLS.

I measured the M1 with an N scale ruler, and looks to only be about a foot too wide, and maybe 1.5ft too long.  And as a flatcar load...its good enough for me.

But I'd like to see some hummers and HEMMT...along with some general purpose trucks...like a duece and half...well modern ish...

Also like to see some of the various versions of the hummer too.

I use the Dragon models also .. its a good way to fill up a military train really fast ... the PX was blowing them out for a couple of bucks a piece .. MB Klein also had a good stock of them for a while

+1 for the Dragon models.  Slightly oversized but, as John said, great for silling up those flatcars.
