Would be really great if it can be offered separately... the blind end of the car has the tapered end found on some modernized passenger cars and many "Betterment" cars.  The profile is a difficult one to replicate in N-scale but if the roof is made available it would really help in a lot of ways to model some of the modernized and Betterment cars that a variety of roads had!!!

Joe, do you have a time frame on your offering?  I think it is a great car.  I find it interesting the timing between this cars release and the prior observation car.  Keep up the good work.

I had a master plan to concoct PRR Z74dR Business car 120 (#5).
I used the aluminum rimmed Kato BWL diner windows and splice 2 PRR Parts Arch Roof pieces together. Something like this:



I wonder how close the new one will be to mine.

One of the now-defunct detail manufacturers had a similar replacement roof.  I purchased some to recast during its going-out-of-business sale.

To my eyes, the contour of the roof in the middle of the car looks the same as the new roof show in the post above. The trick is the ends and I'm not that good to be able to build it myself!

The roof is an arched type with compound curves at both ends.  Would be great for some Laser Horizon business car sides...

Joe, any chance this kind of roof could make it to production? I'm not sure how popular they are but Jerry could probably provide example roads. As you can see, I'm interested in the McCloud Railway.

Ryan, the MR has had a mix of former SP Harriman coaches and IC former m.u. trailers and heavyweight coaches over the years.  The Harriman car roofs can be done using parts from Wheels of Time while the air duct IC coaches can be kitbashed from MT coach and sleeper parts.  Some roster information can be found at the link below and, in about two weeks once I have posted a new Update to the Passenger Car Photo Index additional links will be available for pix of some of their cars...

Watching this with some interest - I purchased one of the MT observations with the express purpose of kitbashing it into a modernized business car (with rounded roof).
