So they regained some tooling including the trucks couplers and wheels. That's a good start
lets hope other cars follow soon. I still won't hold my breath on their vehicles.

You seem to feel abysmal take it
Then you're careful grace for sure
Kinda like the way you're breathing
Kinda like the way you keep looking away

Totally not my car, but not a bad price at $20.  Especially since they come "packed in a new jewel box".  Walthers would put a $20 premium on the fancy new jewel box alone.

I bought one of the Bellows Falls cars on the first run only because it looks so pretty. PRR trains out of Chicago (current layout) and NH from Providence to Boston (planned layout) never ran these cars. But so pretty!!

When did these cars run, into the mid 50s? Just looking for an excuse to use them with a D&H RS3!

I am pleased with the price line on it.  Are these cars they designed or are they ones that they picked up somewhere along the way?  Either way it is a good price!

You are forgetting these milk cars come in a new jewel box.

Sorry,couldn't let that slide..

Anyone know if these cars come close to the Surplee cars the PRR carried to Philadelphia on several of their trains?

3rdrail had posted these photos of the NSC special run cars back in Aug 2008. They look close enough to me.

Thanks Paul.  Now I've just got to find where I can find a couple.

The origianl news release stated they had to re-purchase their tooling. I had heard that included everything that had currently in production but had to go thru it all to check and see if it was all there.

A couple of notes. First, NONE of the affected products they had announced prior to the factory shutdown have had new expected dates added so if it was ordered prior to January, still no idea when it is coming. That is according to the backorder log on our dealer portal. Second, the new announcements over the past 6 months have had the dealer wholesale prices raised so even though the prices look the same as before the "street" price on everything announced here on out will increase.

On the B&O line in Chester, Pa there was a Supplee-Willis-Jones facility that had frontage to the team track, so any B&O folks could run cars legitimately on the line up from Balto.

Not in any of these schemes, but two of these wooden milk cars ran on the PRR's Delmarva line well into the 60s;  moving latex material in, I believe, captured service between two (Dupont?) plants.  Pics are in the Morning Sun Delmarva book.

I really like the Dairymen's car.  What are the chances I could squeeze one into running on the GN/NP in the Pac NW in the late 60s?  My guess is snowball in hell but maybe something like the Delmarva scenario?

Or have one purchased second hand as an express car. Some railroads did that.

You don't know me very well do you ?

Apparently not. Unfortunately I don't need milk cars, but it is good to see someone likes sporting a white mustache.

It sounded like a good idea at the time... too bad the caboose wasn't in on the plan.
