I would jump on that for 100 bucks if the ladder truck wasn't what the mine de-mucker was .

Pretty cool. I remember reading in the B&M Bulletin about how Milford, NH had their new fire truck delivered the same way.

I think the ramps are about 50% too short...

Just pull the boxcar forward.... I think I have unloaded motorcars from trailers with short ramps in the same way!
I WANNA SEE THE BOAT MOVIE!

Yes... I'm in N... Also HO and 1:1

Notice that the boxcar is a PRR round roof (not a wagontop, they were B&O only) with end doors.  Read an article years ago about them shipping firetrucks and I remember a photo of an extra long boxcar they had (believe only 1 made) for shipping long hook and ladder trucks.  Wish I could find the photo of that car.

Think that's a pickup truck.  Anyone wonder how much gas costs at the Gulf station across the street?

I agree. Probably why everyone is standing around looking, and nobody is in the drivers seat. Very cool photo Chris.

$0.21 a gallon in 1944. That is $2.57 in 2010 when adjusted for inflation.

Best wishes, Dave

If you lend someone $20, and never see that person again, it was probably worth it.
