Thank you all for your kind words!  Mike C: Sorry - I didn't mean to hijack your thread. I really like that small graveyard by the tracks!  People living in that house sure have some nice and quiet neighbors (I know, I used to live near a cemetery). Are those headstones Woodland Scenics head stones or scratch built?

Mcjaco: sorry - domestic beers only. You know, made in America!  Just like we all wish model train items should be.  ;)

Philip H and unittrain: I'll start another thread about construction of the bar. I'm planning on writing a magazine article about it but I suppose that showing a bit more details here won't hurt. But it seems that imageshack misplaced some of the bar photos I uploaded. I'll have to try to get them back or upload them again.  Stay tuned...

Too bad that unlike Atlas forum (sniff, sniff...) this forum doesn't seem allow local uploads of photos.  Or maybe I'm still too green to be allowed....

Pete, my mind is getting rustier but do I remember correctly that you put on a tutorial or two on how to make some of your structures at Atlas, if so I wouldn't mind see it again here, I'm not quite at the structure building stage but I should be there in the 6 months or so....  I suspect some here haven't seen your work.

Hey Pete,no problem, I like you're idea of a drink better too LOL. The graveyard is a Woodland scenics product, and there is an Atlas church just to the left of the house. I'm all for domestic bears myself, but it seems that I have been going for the more tasty smaller brewery products lately. ( Maybe I'm developing "taste" in my old age ! ) .....Mike

Rick: I don't think I posted anything more than a photo or two of the Lefty's bar on the Atlas forum.  I did post a complete writeup about the pizza parlor (next to Lefty's bar).  I can re-post that one in the Railwire since you think it is a good idea.

Mark, as far as the beer choice goes, Schlitz on the Lefty's sign was more of a tongue-in-cheek than anything else. The Pool Bar signs were also chosen with no particular preference on my part. I chose Bud because I live fairly close to one of the breweries. Coors and Miller were chosen because of their simple logo designs (and considering the resolution limitation of my Alps printer for such a small signs).  Besides, this bar will be located in the 70s time period - way before the designer-beer micro-breweries even existed.  :D

In the 70s, Coors was a designer micro-brew, if I remember Smokey and the Bandit correctly. Is your bar located in Colorado?

Was not certain when I initially saw the topic if it was meant to be "stooping for a drink" or "stopping for a drink."  ;)  Now that I viewed it, seems completely off-track.
