Sometimes good things come out of bad news; my LHS owner was so miffed at ExactRail that he's blowing out his remaining stock... I picked up three of the PS 4000 hoppers for about $ 14.00 each....two Northern Pacific and one Continental Grain Corp.... goody for me... :)
Model railroading isn't saving my life, but it's providing me moments of joy not normally associated with my current situation..... Train are good!

These guys are hopeless I emailed Blaine and said if they were going to do a gon do a 52'-6" (like the Rock Island prototype they've done in HO) with the possibility of coil covers ect. I got a response that they were not planning on that necessarily, if these were not tooled up much earlier (before Atlas did theirs) they need  there head checked. They make good models but don't have common sense when it comes to selection. We need a good 60's - 70's era gondola that could be used in coil service.

Is that LHS CVR, Pud? Man, that is a long drive to the LHS  ;)

I'll hold my tongue with respect to EXR's model choices since they did that purdy HS 65' gon that CP uses. But the new sales policy...

They've released a few models of unique prototypes - the PC&F boxcar, Gunderson boxcar, the corrugated (Gunderson?) gondola as well as the Siddeley gon.  Even the Vert-a-Pak, although it requires some additional modeling work to get it up to current standards.  And the Trinity box was an improvement over the Hubert model.  But a lot of the other choices that duplicate existing state-of-the-art models are what they get dinged on, in both scales.

I just wish they'd release some more of the PC&F boxcars, Brian. Would like a few more SP and another WP, plus maybe a UP in the scheme that followed the toyish yellow one.
