Access to members profile so I can PM them

Hey guys,
  How can I PM a member if I can't access their profile to send it?

Why am I blocked from doing this anyway?

You should be able to PM members from within the thread .. the other way is to go to my messages, click pm, and use the search function for the members name ..

all profiles are locked for security reasons .. you are not being singled out ..

I was just wondering that too.. they used to be enabled.   what 'security issues', out of curiosity?

John, you want to give me a solution that works? If I can't access them ,how do I pm them?

Got to Members and search for who you want to PM. Click the box looking thing on the left, that'll PM them,

Ya know I tried that earlier and got this "you do not have permission to access this area".ow that I've found a email address and emailed the member it now works just fine.

Which I think figures because now I don't need to pm the member.Oh well go figure ehh.

I think the only way is to find a post by the member and then PM them from the little icon on the left.

I'd still like to know what the security issue is?  I'm on a lot of these types of boards, and this is the only that locks that out.
