The prototype has plug doors, so there's a gap on the sides.  If you'd like a picture showing a tape measure on it, I can dig it out and post it. I'll also get the photos of the Carrier unit that's on these, as well as the B-end and underframe shots.  If you're going to compare a model to anything, it should be the prototype.

I'm interested in seeing the photos, but I think he's talking about the gap between the roof and the car side.  Is there supposed to be a gap there?

He was, which you  answered.  He was also talking about the door.

Ah, no, I think he was saying the gap between the roof and the sides was worst at the door, in other words, at the center of the roof where a bowed roof would created the largest gap.  I don't think he was talking about the door surround.

Ahh, so he's saying a noticable gap on each side of the door refering to the gap between the upper sill and roof.

The gap I am concerned about is the one between the roof and the sides.  All of mine look like the roof is raised a bit over the door.  I have also noticed many of them appear to have the roof raised a bit on the ends as well.  It looks like the roof needs to be pushed down in the middle and on the ends.  I tried that, and it did not move.

The very small gap between the sides and the doors looks fine to me, it is only the roof that really got my attention when I unpacked the BLMA models.

Good news!  I was able to remove the roof from one of my BLMA reefers and file away the material that was preventing it from fitting flush.  Hopefully the slight warping will go away now that the roof is not being forced away from the car body at those locations.  If it doesn't, I think the roof can be glued down and the gap at least will be minimized if not eliminated entirely.

Sorry about hijacking this thread to discuss my issues with the BLMA model, but it did inspire me to find a solution.
