Bryan... have something for you to look at... will have it posted soon.  I am sure something can be done to replicate the New Haven commuter coaches between the interiors of the coach and the parlor shell...

Jerry,

Looking forward to seeing what you've got.  Regarding the New Haven ex-parlor/commuters - the MTL parlor is based on the New York Central prototype, which also is the New Haven prototype.  Granted, eleven of the twelve NH cars had ice a/c, but one car did have mechanical a/c and is an exact match.  When the railroad converted the surplus parlors to commuter cars, they revamped the interior but did not modify the window placements.  So the MTL parlor with a coach interior also would be a match to the NH prototype from the mid 1950s forward, both in the green Dumaine-era scheme and in red/black New Image scheme.

That's three New Haven schemes you can do on the parlor model Joe (hint hint).  8)

Some of these requests probably would be better used on the single window coach... that's the one I am anxious to see come out...

For now my plans are to work on some parlor to coach conversions as I am able to... gonna be needing a fair number of them to fit my road's needs.

I don't think there is a more badly needed heavyweight than a good single window heavyweight coach. Dining cars are really tough as they were so different road to road, so too are solarium cars. I hope to see a few more Pullman paterned sleepers; these are more common and can be bashed somewhat easier. I'll take a high window solarium too; albeit I will have surgery to do but I am waiting for a single window coach and a full baggage...........
Model railroading isn't saving my life, but it's providing me moments of joy not normally associated with my current situation..... Train are good!

As long as we're considering stand-ins, I'd grab some MILW orange & maroon coaches for commuter service.

So twice (a couple of months ago and then in this thread) I asked what the loops on the side frames were for and so far no one will even hazard a guess. I have a couple of HO friends that I saw again yesterday and they keep asking me.  BTW they are very impressed with what we now have in the way of heavyweights but are still curious what those loops are for.
Best regards,

Roger
