Russ told me to use hot water to distress gons. Not a bad idea, since it allows you to massage the damage in place without resorting to more drastic and potentially damaging measures. During this process, I got the idea to bend the sides of the gon downwards, drill through them under the underframe, and add a steel bar (actually just the bit left in place
) across the bottom to hold the sides in their new, warped position:
I admit that the end result is really subtle, but more noticeable in person than this photos since the sides bow outwards too.
I'll get more photos up when I finish the decaling and weathering.
BTW, any weathered SP gons like this? The CR isn't working for me.
