I "took the plunge" and bought ten packs of FVM wheels sets for my passenger fleet.... FMV 3603 - 36" wheels w/563 Axle.... Says fits ATL, Riv...

They don't................

They don't seem to fit anything - Atlas trucks, Model Power; Riverossi; Kato; Bachmann, even Micro Trains.... and one end of the axle is longer then the other...

What am I doin wrong...? Did I buy the wrong ones.... or is middle age slipping quietly into senility ?

Help !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ??? ??? ??? ??? ??? ???
Model railroading isn't saving my life, but it's providing me moments of joy not normally associated with my current situation..... Train are good!

Hmmm ... isn't 3603 the longest axle length?  Those are pretty much for vintage N scale equipment, meaning 1970s Atlas and Con-Cor and Rivarossi et al.  What you are looking for is 3602 which is for current Atlas/InterMountain.  Item 3601 is for MTL equipment.
