This is no joke, surprised no one mentioned this (from Walthers.com).  I have no interest in this stuff, but I know it is useful to some of you...

Hmm. I winder if these are from Ajin again, or has Model Power finally found a different manufacturer?

I have one of their Pacifics - the mechanism itself is not bad (so far). The shell is metal with some cast on details - no problem for me since I will "re-decorate". The tenders suck in terms of pickup. I picked up one of the excellent "new" Bachmann tenders to cure that problem.

Ooh, more Americans and Moguls.

I really want one of each of them, but am only really interested if I can find one cheap (since they're not "gotta haves").

I was beginning to think the company had abandoned the market. Good to see them back.

Hope the tender trucks are different this time...

I really hate paying over $100 for these when I can get a Kato mike for that price all day long.

Model power is charging Kato/Spectrum prices for locos that simply are not Kato/Spectrum quality, hopefully they wind up on e-stores and auction sites for the 75 dollar range, then I might bite.
Just say no to dummy couplers.

If they come with TT installed and new tender pickup as promised many years back they will be winners.

The MP wiper system pickup is straight off an HO loco but otherwise I like these loco's a lot. A Pacific with TT will pull 40+ cars no sweat. I am using their chassis for a few projects and they are the only current Pacific available. If they would make a Heavy Pacific shell, they could cover more ground with them and I would retire a few Rivarossi/Atlas loco's.

I reckon they should have the TT installed cause the last lot of steamers I got from them had the traction tyres already installed and that's on the 4-6-2, 2-8-2 and 2-6-0. The 2-6-0 is sweet!!! ;D

All new steam after the last batch of the 2-6-0 feature traction tires. I'm not sure if they changed the electrical pickup, but if they didn't the American may be the exception.

I'm not sure sure about that. We just got a brand new Mikado and Pacific in for the shop, with the hope that they would finally have TT. They did not. When the statement was made a year or two so back that all new releases would have TT, I purposely ordered an Undec Pacifc from a distributor that was showing out of stock so that I knew I would be getting new stock. 3 months later when it arrived, no traction tires. The only loco I have come across with traction tires installed from the factory is my 2-6-0.

There seems to be plenty of 1st-run stock for the 2-8-2s around.  I ordered a 2-8-2 recently, from a retailer that had to get it from a distributor, and got a 1st-run model (to my disappointment).

I'm sorry Dave, I'm afraid I can't do that.
