Totally Uninformed

My "N" Athearn Challenger stopped running. The Tsunami 750 Heavy Steam is installed and the decoder still produces sound and controls the loco lights when the direction is changed. I emailed the Tsunami guys and got a quick reply and there in lies the problem. I do not have the slightest idea what it is talking about.
Here is the reply... "I am worried the motor fuse may have popped which cuts off the power to the motor. Simply take a volt meter to the orange gray wires and set the locomotive to a speed step of 20 or so and verify that it is sending out power to the motor."
Any help? Info, ideas?

I believe they are simply asking you to verify voltage at the motor (or at the decoder, on the motor wire terminals).  The Orange and Grey wires should be running to the motor.

Pop the shell off.
Place the loco on the track.
Turn it on, with a speed step of ~20.
Check for voltage.

They are saying, if you get nothing - it's likely an inline fuse has blown.
