Ok guys, I'll be straight with you all.

No pics, and..............I've been "at idle" with my N scale layout.  I haven't "operated" anything in two years.

Lots of "stuff" going on in life, and I didn't even keep up with any forums. I did buy a few locos and cars for the future...........whenever it "arrived".

A few days ago I met "N" scale railroading again. I spent all day today in my trainroom. The part of life that was on hold, came back. It's as fun and relaxing as ever.

And back to the thread? I completely cleaned, vaccuumed, and dusted the entire room and my layout. All the track was "bright boyed" and then I ran my RS3 and track cleaner for about an hour.

Finally, I set up 6 DRGW locos and 12 autoracks. Run8, through the Rockies, at 15mph.

So nothing "got done", but the MOW is complete, and she's running fine again.

Good to be back.

I too was at the B&O museum this weekend (but on Friday).

Here are some pics:

Wow. This has to be the nicest job of painting/detailing the Heljan Brewery building  I have ever seen. The "concrete highlights" really change the overall look of this building.  Like many N and HO scale modelers, I have one of these pioneering kits. They have appeared on many layouts over the years but many times they look a bit off (especially in N scale), due in part I think to the dual-scale nature of the model. Whoever built this one did a great job of adapting it to its site.

These photos are also quite nice. I love the afternoon sun look of them. Was this natural light through the windows or did you haul in lighting of your own?

If you lend someone $20, and never see that person again, it was probably worth it.

Steve,
It's the track side so maybe the blast furnace in the background?  Naa not modeling Warren, but wanted this station.

OK I get it now.  Trackside as in prior to the realignment and "flipped" as in East/West.  Had me puzzled at first.  Very cool.  So, when you get bored with this layout and hoist it onto the stack with all rest of your fabulous work, keep me in mind.   ;)

Those modules were done by Bob Mohr of Baltimore Ntrak.

That is natural sunlight; those modules are set up at the B&O so they catch the afternoon sun through the roundhouse windows.

Au contrare Tim. Those were also under some BANTRAK supplied fill lighting. I'm REALLY glad we invested in those...

And I agree, Bob's modules are really nice. One of the reasons I love shooting on them.

Ed, These are some of the nicest "show photos" I have seen. Is this photo shot using the fill lights or is this natural light? A great photo.

Steve,
Even though the main line could be on either side I was talking about the track side as in trucks backed into one side and boxcars pulled up to the other side (like those shots you got of the CP car). I took the drawings of the track side and mirrored it.

Here it is later as the passenger station:

They're not actually true "fill lights", they're actually lamps that we've mounted over the layout since the museum tends to get dark later in the day.

The light really is just the ambient in the room. All I did was what I explain here: http://conrail1285.com/news.asp?storyid=28

Yeah Ed, I like the sunset-y color of the pic of 3385.  So the sky is the guy's backdrop?  Probably the most realistic backdrop I've seen.

The sky is almost all his backdrop. I had to clone in some parts in the upper left corner where it ran out though.
