John, really looking good.  Can you tell us a little more about the railroad, prototype?, area modelled?, trackplan? size?.

That's some nice progress there. Amazing how a getting that simple blue backdrop makes everything look exponentially better.

Yea, I coulnd't believe it either .. Lesson learned here .. backdrops are scenery ..

CSX / WM influence .. Appalachian protolance .. room is L shaped .. 35' on the long end .. 12 wide on the top of the L, and 15 wide on the bottom ..

The Appalachians make for compelling modelling and railfanning.

Noticed it too working on some scenery at the club.

plain Blue backdrop.
Basic styrofoam scenery shapes.
Plaster covering over foam
Paint plaster earth colour
Add some ground foam.
Add some ballast.

It was amazing how much better everything looked after each individual simple step. And the area still needs some longer grass, bushes/trees, backdrop painting, structures....
